Following on from the critical success of Netflix‘s foray into the realm of biopics, after Blonde starring Ana de Armas was nominated for an Academy Award, Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming Leonard Bernstein biopic, titled Maestro.
The biopic centers around the life and career of renowned American composer Leonard Bernstein, predominantly focusing on Bernstein’s affair with Felicia Montealegre, which started in 1946 and continued through Bernstein’s two engagements.

As well as starring as Bernstein, Bradley Cooper also directed and co-wrote the feature, which was selected for nomination at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year. Alongside Bradley Cooper, Maestro also stars Carey Mulligan (Drive), Miriam Shor (GotG Vol. 3), Maya Hawke (Asteroid City), Sarah Silverman (Wreck-It Ralph), Alexa Swinton (Old), Sara Sanderson (Sleepy Hollow), and Matt Bomer (In Time).
Maestro releases in select cinemas on November 22 before hitting Netflix on December 20.
